Fund Raising Appeal
August 5, 2004
Dear Friend,
Summer means trips to the beach, the Red Sox on the radio, and lazy
afternoons in the shade. Here at Peterborough Fire and Rescue, it means fund
raising season. We rely heavily on contributions made by the community to
support the services we provide and we are again asking for your help.
We have used funds from each of the past two years to complete our training
center. This room has already been used for regional fire, rescue, and
medical training. In addition, this space has freed up our old meeting room
to provide much needed office space for our fire and medical officers.
We have also used your donations to supplement the purchase of our thermal
imaging camera. This device was purchased through the generosity of the
Lions Club of Peterborough. With our additional funds we were able to
purchase a monitor and recording device which further enhance our operations
with the thermal imager.
This year, with your help, we will continue to make wise purchases that
further enhance the service we provide. We continue to be at the forefront
of fire and rescue technology and training. We also have added more new
members over the past year than in any other year in memory.
Our primary source of funding for these programs are the funds raised at our
Penny Sale and through this summer fund drive. Any monetary donation you can
make would be greatly appreciated and will ensure the continued excellence
of our community services. If you attended our Penny Sale in June or if you
are a business owner who donated goods or services as prizes, we want to
